Examining Codes of Ethics

Examining Codes of Ethics
  • I-1.1—To be familiar with the knowledge base of early childhood care and education and to stay informed through continuing education and training.
This ideal is significant to my professional life because I know that I can never learn enough about the early childhood field and will continue to train so that I can help train and encourage the children that I come encounter with.
  • I-1.3—To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child.
Working and studying within the early childhood field I have learned that every child is different and I have learned how important it is to accept a child just as they are and learn to adapt.

  • I-1.12—To work with families to provide a safe and smooth transition as children and families move from one program to the next.
The family is one of the child's biggest support groups. When trying to make a difference in a child's life I have learned that being that support factor and showing them that you will work and help them along their journey no matter where it takes them.

  1. Lauren,
Do keep up the good job you have been doing thus far. Families will always need someone who will support them whether it is just to lend a listening ear or to give advice.
Once again keep up the good job and keep going after your achievements.

  2. Lauren,

This are 3 ideals that I also support. I believe that there is so much to learn as a teacher so we can provide the best resources for children and families.

  3. Lauren,

I also agree with these ideals. I have learned through this course how much I need to broaden my research and my networks. There is so much more to learn beyond our own classroom and communities.
